About Us

Lisa Masini (Principal)

The founding philosophy of Waterwise Landscape Design is expressed by the proverb “The frog does not drink up the pond in which he lives”. We believe in creating landscapes that conserve water and look beautiful. We base our designs in xeriscape principles and provide smarter landscape alternatives for home owners who live in dry climates.

Lisa Masini owns and operates the first landscape design business in the Okanagan that specializes exclusively in xeriscape designs that conserve water and protect the environment. She has courses and certificates in Landscape Horticulture and Landscape Design from Okanagan College and the University of Guelph distance education.

Her business focuses on helping Okanagan home owners re-connect with nature by creating beautiful outdoor spaces that provide a retreat for relaxation.

Lisa also has a Master's degree in Cognitive Psychology from the University of British Columbia, where she learned that natural landscapes are beneficial to body and mind by reducing stress and anxiety.

Lisa's passion for promoting landscapes better aligned with the Okanagan's natural environment motivated her to co-found the non-profit organization called the Okanagan Xeriscape Association.
